Welcome

Welcome to Advanced Windows! On this site you will explore how to use Windows to it's maximum potential with the help of shortcuts, neat software, commands and more!

Getting started

To start off you'll need a device with Windows. For this tutorial I'm using Windows 10, but Windows 11 should work just as well. Although some software and layouts might be different. To avoid confusion between Windows (the OS) and a window (the floating box like your browser or another application), this guide will use panel to refer to the latter.

Shortcuts

Shortcuts, keybindings or hotkeys are a way to quickly do an action by pressing a combination of keys without having to point your mouse or having to go through multiple menus. Although I will talk about some mouse functions.

The shortcuts category will be split up into three main sections: general shortcuts that you can use almost everywhere, shortcuts using the Windows key and shortcuts for browsers.

Software

In this section we'll explore some software that can enhance your experience in Windows by adding extra functionality or by optimizing existing functionalities.

This category is split up into 4 sections: software installers to download and manage all your software, better alternatives to existing Windows applications, powertoys where I explain what it is and what it can do, password managers and why you should use them along with some reviewers recommendations and finally some other software that I just find genuinely useful.

Commands

Finally, in the commands section I'll talk about a few commands that can help you do things otherwise hidden far away in menus or even inaccessible otherwise.

The last category is split into commands for your computer that you can use offline and commands that use the internet, so you will need to have a connection for those.
